Super Bodies

Ik ben vandaag niet alleen naar het IMS geweest maar ook naar Z33 en het modemuseum om een deel van de tentoonstelling Superbodies te bekijken. Het interessantste werk vond ik dat van Naomi Filmer. Haar werk intrigeert mij enorm. Ze had er ook een installatie staan van 3 afbeeldingen van haar werken. Wanneer je ervoorbij liep kregen de beelden een 3D-effect. Het is moeilijk uit te leggen, ik raad dus gewoon aan dat je even gaat kijken.


Andere interessante namen voor mijn eigen magazine die ik heb opgeschreven zijn: William Forsythe, Boris Charmatz, Ginna Lee, Comme des Garçons, Junya Wannatabe en Anna Nicole Ziesche

Deze laatste had ook een boeiende installatie

'The film Childhood Storage is shot entirely within a detailed replica of Anna-Nicole Ziesche’s small first childhood bedroom. The film is inspired by the fact that mothers often preserve their child’s bedroom from the moment the child leaves home, creating a kind of physical storage for childhood. It presents ideas of how we are physically and psychologically shaped (and haunted) by our childhood and asks whether every decision and action is determined by an unbroken chain of prior experience; in what sense adulthood is the consequence of childhood. In what form is the childhood room actually stored? The mother literalises what the child has internalised, which goes on evolving into new forms.'

Yiqing Yin

Vandaag was ik in de IMS (international magazine store). Tijdens het bladeren in enkele magazines kwam ik Yiqing Yin tegen. Haar ontwerpen spraken me meteen aan en stralen het thema beweging uit.







"Her aim has been to create a garment that protects and reinforces, being at the same time a second skin and a supple armour. Examining the dynamic potential of pleats, she imagines structures which are never fixed, shapes that are always in mutation. She sculpts the emptiness around the body with, as a common thread, the search for balance and points of rupture between the flowing zones and the sculpted zones. The modernisation of smocking and the elimination of any order of construction, allows her great room for experimentation. She models loose shapes with a staggering structure, whilst at the same time remaining within the limits of patterned designs, confessing her attraction for a method of creation which is intuitive, a sensory wandering, and the search for voluntary accidents."

the idea behind this was to present expanded notions of the body, ideas and representations that seem more in line with how the body actually works and looks rather than how it is idealized. Urbach really wanted to engage with parts of the body we want to avoid, like snot or hair follicles, bodily fluids and body fat.

Yves Klein is een franse monochromist die bekent is van zijn blauwe werken. Hij werkt vaak met schimmels en met het menselijk lichaam.
Een leuk weetje: Op de opening kregen de gasten een blauw drankje, waardoor hun urine blauw kleurde. Hun lichaam werd als het ware helemaal bevrucht, verzadigd met blauw
